Google introduces low-cost AI Plus plan in 40+ countries, making advanced AI tools accessible to more users worldwide.

Google AI Plus Plan has expanded to more than 40 countries, including Angola, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Philippines, Senegal, Uganda, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.

The plan first launched in Indonesia at Rp 75,000 ($4.50) per month. In most regions, the subscription costs around $5. In countries like Nepal and Mexico, Google introduced a 50% discount for the first six months, making it an affordable AI subscription for new users.

The AI Plus global rollout unlocks Gemini 2.5 Pro, along with tools such as Flow, Whisk, and Veo 3 Fast that support both image and video creation. Subscribers also gain access to advanced features inside NotebookLM, AI-powered functions in Gmail, Docs, and Sheets, and receive 200GB of cloud storage.

This expansion comes right after OpenAI launched its sub-$5 ChatGPT Go plan in Indonesia. India, the first country where ChatGPT Go debuted, does not appear on Google’s current list.

Both Google and OpenAI provide a $20 per month base plan. With the new affordable AI subscription, they aim to reach more paying users in regions where the higher $20 plan creates a barrier.
